Job

From Miitopia Central
The Warrior, an example of a job.

The jobs (Japanese: 職業 Shokugyō; Job) are playable roles that make up the party members in Miitopia. Each job specializes in a certain combat role and has its own set of skills, weapons, and clothes, as well as stats. There are a total of 14 jobs.

Description[edit]

Casting a Mii as a Cleric.

In Miitopia, a job provides a Mii with its own level progression, base stats, skill set (and which levels they unlock), and equipment. The player can not equip weapons or clothes of one job on another, but amiibo clothes are compatible for all jobs except for the Tank. The first Mii to obtain a job in-game is the Hero, who is granted the power of jobs from the Guardian Spirit prior to the very first battle against the Mini "Mii" Slime. From then on, every party member the Hero meets is assigned a job by the player during Mii creation.

In Greenhorne, the player starts off with the job options of the Warrior, the Mage, the Cleric, the Thief, the Pop Star, and the Chef. Since the Demo version only covers this world, these six jobs are the only playable jobs in that version. The Pop Star is the only job to be further divided into subclasses, which are the Male Pop Star and the Female Pop Star, each of them having its own set of clothes but sharing the same weapon type.

When the Hero temporarily loses his/her party members to the Dark Lord after a world clear, the Hero's current job at that point is disabled and the player has to pick a new job for him/her. In exchange, the next worlds Neksdor and Realm of the Fey each unlocks three more jobs. The Cat, the Imp, and the Scientist jobs are first unlocked in Neksdor, while the Tank, the Princess, and the Flower jobs are first unlocked in Realm of the Fey. The only exception is in Karkaton where the Hero retains his/her current job, but after rescuing the lost party members in Karkaton Ascent and before entering the Karkaton dungeon, the feature to switch jobs is unlocked.

The Travelers' Hub generates visitors with random jobs unless they are required for the story, in which case they will always be generated with the same jobs, or unless they use unique Mii Cast roles like the Quizmaster. If the visitor is recruited to the party, he/she will join with the pre-assigned job.

Miitopia has two bonus jobs, Vampire and Elf, which require obtaining their respective charms to unlock them. The Vampire's bat charm is obtained from clearing the optional Vampire quest in Travelers' Hub that first appears after clearing the Cat's Sky Scraper jewel quest. The Elf's elven charm is obtained by clearing the north-most stage in Uncharted Galados. Once these jobs are unlocked, the random visitors in Travelers' Hub may be generated with said jobs.

All jobs begin at level 1 and max out at 50. They also level up at the same EXP rate, but a job only gains EXP if it is the Mii's current active job. In the Nintendo Switch version, the Horse Whispering assist varies by the Hero's current job.
